OLD HAVANA MUNICIPALITY. INFORMATION
This is the most ancient zone of Havana City. There is a considerable number of colonial buildings, fully restored and converted into museums. To mention some of them : El Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, and the house where José Martí was born. El Palacio del Segundo Cabo, El Convento de San Francisco de Asís and some others are nice places to visit.
The sensation you can experiment while walking along Obispo street, a place full of semiopen-to-exterior hotels, bars, and restaurants, is particularly pleasant. There are various traditional music bands playing at these places, which works as a delightful trap to make you come inside and take a look. The most famous Cuban restaurants,La Bodeguita del Medio y El Floriditafavorite place of Ernest Hemingway, as well as El Patio and La Zaragozana restaurants, can be found in this area.
Another important place to keep in mind near of the Cathedral Platz where hundreds of fine arts artists meet everyday to expose and sell their work. You can acquire exquisite Cuban pieces of art while your walk on the streets
.Daily costs of rooms in this area bounce between 25-35 pesos convertibles/day, depending on the conditions of each house. A lot of hosts include breakfast in the price
